In order to guide and promote teachers’ professional development, the Teaching and Research Office in Anqing City selected some excellent lessons to display and present before the whole city. During this grand event, each subject in middle and primary schools was showcased in two half-day, during the first of which each and every teacher was supposed to listen to the expert report. On the other hand, demonstration lessons were displayed in the second half day.
To begin with, Anqing Foreign Language School was one of the organizers of this event. At 2.30 P.M. on 29th November, the expert report was about to start and all seats were occupied in the School Lecture Hall. Nearly 600 teacher representatives in elementary and secondary schools from urban areas and counties attended the seminar.
What’s more, the symposium was chaired by Deputy Director Chen Jun with the Teaching and Research Section. More remarkably, Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli delivered a welcome speech. Afterwards, everyone listened attentively to the special lecture made by expert Mr. Huang Wei. During the three hours’ lecture, Mr. Huang Wei interpreted vividly and all teachers listened earnestly as well, benefiting each one a lot.
In addition, since 8.40 A.M. on 30th November, 16 demonstration classes were showcased within the Primary, Junior and Senior High Departments in Anqing Foreign Language School. Obviously, the teacher-student interaction was brilliant indeed.
To conclude, the implementation of this fantastic event not only favorably facilitated teachers’ specialty development, but also made clear that the core mission of current education was developing students’ key competencies.
